Parent Student Portal

In 2004, the Larkspur School District implemented a new student information system database known as PowerSchool. One feature of PowerSchool is a student/parent access portal. After recent upgrades to our network and hardware, we are pleased to be able to open the student/parent access portal to Hall families. Access to your child’s grades and attendance through PowerSchool is another form of communication with teachers, but more importantly, it is a means to help all of us in our efforts to support your child’s education. Please read this letter carefully and sign in the space provided. If you have any questions please contact Andy Boone at aboone@marin.k12.ca.us. Once signed, return the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) to the main office. Welcome to PowerSchool!

As a condition of using PowerSchool, I understand that I am agreeing to the following:

  1. Username and passwords are to be kept confidential.
  2. Only one username and password will be issued per family per student.
  3.  It is your responsibility to determine which parent(s) or guardian(s) will be able to access records.
  4. All concerns about the system should be addressed to District Technical Support via email larkspursupport@marin.k12.ca.us Note: The school district does not provide support for your home or work computer system.
  5. Even though you will be able to check grades at any time of day, there may be times when the system is down due to planned maintenance or an unplanned outage.  Please check the system again within 24 hours.  If you still do not have access please contact technical support (above).
  6. Grade concerns should be addressed with the specific teacher via phone or email.
  7. Teachers will update information at least twice per quarter, i.e. at the mid-quarter for progress reports and at then end of the quarter; information viewed, therefore, may not be current.
  8. Calculated course percentages and grades may seem low or high at the beginning of a quarter; grade averages in the early part of a term can fluctuate greatly when even a minor assignment is graded. As more assignments are scored, the calculated grades will be normally be closer to the final grade. Several missing assignments, quarter projects or test grades may significantly affect the quarter grade.
  9. Different classes may use different factoring methods to weight assignment scores; the current percentage and grade, therefore, may not be equivalent to the average of all scores reported.
  10. If errors are suspected in any assignment scores, the student must show the assignment to the teacher for review.
  11. Attendance concerns should be addressed to the Hall front office at 927-6978.
  12. If you forget your username and/or password, send in a written request to Hall office and you will be given a new login.
  13. No usernames or passwords will be given out over the phone or via email. Each student’s family may have only one unique login per student.

Acceptable Use:

  1. I understand that the school district is providing this access as a privilege, and if it is abused, it will be revoked at any time without notice.
  2. I realize that the Larkspur School District is not liable for any damages to your personal equipment incurred when connected to the PowerSchool System.
  3. I hereby release the Larkspur School District and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims and damages arising from my use or inability to use the system when accessing my child’s grades and attendance.
  4. I am aware that, at times, the information in the PowerSchool System may be incorrect and I should notify the appropriate individual regarding corrections.  (See login page for additional information.) We appreciate your patience and cooperation in this matter.
  5. I am aware at times that the system may be unavailable due to maintenance.
  6. As a parent or guardian I have read and signed this policy and understand that access is designed for the educational support of my child’s education.
